Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

The purpose of a Catholic education is for the school to support the family in their paramount, God-given role of leading their children towards sainthood. The school, in turn, must point the students to all that is good, true, and beautiful.

At Gorman, our dedicated staff does just this. Through a rigorous curriculum, numerous co-curricular activities, and, most importantly, an uncompromising Catholic Identity, Bishop Gorman lives her mission of preparing graduates of well-formed Catholic Christian character, virtue, holiness, and living faith who serve every segment of civil and ecclesial society with excellence.

The most direct encounter we have with God is through the Sacraments. Our glorious weekly liturgies, opportunities for Confession, and regular Eucharistic Adoration provide the opportunity for the students to contemplate the Divine while fulfilling their place in the world. The heart of our school flows from the sacramental life of the Church.

This heart is also felt in our course of study. From Apologetics to AP courses, to lab sciences to the Humanities, Gorman teaches her students to apply faith and reason to all aspects of life through a curriculum that focuses on inquiry and critical thinking.

This education extends beyond the classroom because this education must be consistent. The discovery of the good, the true, and the beautiful must be sought in music, performing arts, the fields, and courts of competition, and in all that the school puts forth in which the students can participate. This integration of the whole human person encapsulates what it is to be educated.

This is not meant to be limited to just a few. All are called to sainthood and to be educated in a manner commensurate with their abilities. Bishop Gorman is a community that is vibrant and will accept students from all walks of life and of all abilities - from the gifted to the disabled - and recognize what each can contribute in their own unique way.

Be it known that Jesus Christ is the Reason for our School! Thank you for visiting Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic School, where young people discover the fullness of who they are called to be!

Sincerely,

John Kimec
