Bishop Gorman and Whitehouse were two of the 16 varsity boys teams that competed at the Fifth Annual The Ranch Invitational wrestling tournament at Gorman.
Whitehouse had four wrestlers take home gold. Josh Green won first in the 190-pound class. Carter McLaughlin won the 150-pound class. Dante Lindsay won the 144-pound class. Jadyn Gardner won the 113-pound class.
Gorman had two wrestlers in the championship finals.
Cade Scott won the 157-pound division. Sam Kerzee placed second in the 165-pound class with a 10-9 decision against the Louisiana state champion. Sean O’Neil placed third in the 175-pound class. Zeke Connor placed third at 285, George Krog third at 190; and Eli Mahfood and Oliver Finny both fifth.
Gorman placed fourth out of 13 teams.
Whitehouse’s McLaughlin recently was named the Texas Wrestler of the Week.
Gorman will compete in the Prep State Duals Saturday at Dallas Bishop Lynch.
Whitehouse will be at the Arlington Bowie Tournament on Saturday.
