In Spanish class, 4th grade students learned about the meaning of the piñata in Latin America.
The traditional piñata was shaped like a star with 7 points, which represent the 7 deadly sins. The bright colored decoration symbolizes the temptation of sin. The candies and goodies inside represent the Kingdom of Heaven. The blindfold stands for Faith and the stick you hit the piñata with, stands for virtue or the will to overcome sin.
It was a tough craft, but we did it!!

Catholic Schools Week—priest appreciation day. SG students gave Fr. Hank and Bishop Strickland crosses with promises of prayers from the students.

One of our students received the Sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) during our Catholics Schools Week Mass this morning, here are a couple of pictures - more to come! We are so blessed to have Catholic schools, places where learning is centered on Jesus, his mission and his Church.
And of course his class celebrated with cookies decorated like a Church, since he became a full member of the CHURCH today ! 💛💙
